I kinda saw someone die today. Was heading off to work and looked down over the balcony at Centreplace to see an old lady lying on the floor at The Coffee Club and paramedics doing CPR. I later learned from the girl at Romano's that she passed away.
Now I just did my first aid certificate course last week and if I had arrived a little earlier to get a coffee like I thought about this morning, I may have had to have used it; and that was one scary thought. Could I have done it? Would I have panicked? Would I have remembered what to do?
Things like this really shake me.
I also recognised the woman kneeling beside her - possibly her daughter - as a regular customer. Could they have been on their way to Rialto after their morning tea? She could have collapsed at work.
The whole thing shook me up quite a bit.
My thoughts and prayers go out to the family. Such a sad thing to happen. Especially in public with a whole lot of people crowded around staring. I don't get how people can do that. Just watch.
I also got one heck of a fright when I heard there had been a massacre at Virginia Tec. My dear friend Anita is at the University of Virginia on an exchange at the moment. Thankfully they are different schools and Nita is fine. Luv ya hun!
Not a good day.
Eternal rest grant unto her, O Lord. And let perpetual light shine upon her. May she rest in peace.

I thought it was an old man that died?
Pretty freaky. I could not bring myself to go and look, in case I saw something that would be implanted in my brain forever. urrggh.
Oooo that's sad...poor family.
Yeah I hate gawkers too!
AAAGGGGHHHHH!! Damn Rubber-neckers!! Why do people have such a morbid obsession with death and pain? That poor family, imagine that, going out to coffee and maybe a movie and then wham! your whole life is changed forever. . .so not fair.
Anyway, Saturday I'm working overtime so I won't be done until 3, how is Sunday for you?
Having been put in a situation where a toddler was choking and the parents panicked, I remembered my first aid. It was amazing how it just happens. I am sure that had you been in a situation you would have coped. In situations like that you find your hidden strengths. Of course... when Greg went missing, I was a complete blubbering mess, so it only goes to show, it never works when it involves emotion. LOL
I thought it was a man too, but a friend of mine who works at Bras'n'Things said it was a lady.
Hmm, sorry Shambles, Sunday not the best for me, rehearsal, then work.
Then next weekend I'm working, rehearsing and beach hopping! Are you two free any time during the week? Late coffee?
