First off, God bless Westpac for bringing out a Visa Debit Card that anyone is eligible for and doesn't get you into debt! Here I come amazon.com!
Secondly, God bless my Mum for giving me an early birthday present of ticket money to go see Topol in Fiddler on the Roof at The Civic!!!!!!!!!
Time for the battle of the Tzeitels lol My Tzeitel will kick professional Tzeitel's ass I betcha! Mwahahaha! (Tzeitel is the eldest of the daughters and the character I played in the Musikmakers show in 2005).
I can't wait! For those of you uneducated in the world of musical theatre, Topol was the original Teyve (that's the dad of the family who pulls a milk cart around and sings If I Were A Rich Man) on the West End in the 1960s and also played Tevye in the 1977 film. And, he's still going strong! Wow, I know people who are sick of a show in three weeks, imagine doing the same part for over three decades!!!!
I have been having a really crappy week with my friggin' depression and feeling like I have no friends....stupid I know, all of you reading this blog are my friends!!!
So this is a real upper. And although my Mum isn't interested in going - and I thought I had corrupted her thoroughly! - my musical theatre friend Emma is keen, even though it's bang on production week for Annie. Now that's dedication! Emma also choreographed us in the 2005 show, so I think she's hanging out to see the bottle dance!
One thing though, we are going to a matinee since we have a huge all day rehearsal the next day, so we will have to try and find parking in central Auckland at 1pm on a Saturday afternoon!!! Any of my Auckland friends have any tips? They would be muchly appreciated!
Speaking of Annie, get your tickets now! Is starting to sell fast. It's such a great show, full of happiness and optimism, and great if you have kiddies. Many Broadway / West End wannabe actresses got their starts by going to see Annie as a child, myself included!
Oh, and I'm in it! Come and see it people!

Ooo ... you're all bouncy and excited and bubbly! Hee hee! :)
Fiddler on the Roof will be wonderful. I'm astounded by the staying power of Topol. Many would find doing any show for that long tedious, but if he's still enjoying it, good on him.
Man, I really wish there were more professional shows coming to NZ. Seems like there hasn't been one for aaaaages.
I'll have to try and get to see Annie - I may have to tag along with my little niece and her parents. She adores the DVD. (So cute.) Hope rehearsals are going well!
That's amazing about Fiddler - have a great time!! I'm so jealous. Wish I could come to NZ to see Topol... mind you, he's probably going to be coming somewhere closer to home at some point. Fiddler's not my favourite show ever, but to see a legend like him perform... wow!
Hang tough with the depression mate. have been down that gloomy tunnel myself & there IS a light at the end of it, trust me on that...
