* Changing lightbulbs. Takes me about half an hour.
Reason # 120 Why It Sucks To Be Single:
* Bugs. Had to wait 10 minutes for the giant ugly weta to move away from the gate so I could pass.
Anyway, have just sorted out a fab costume to wear to the Beach Hop in Whangamata next weekend, but am still lacking a buddy to go with :(
Am just planning to go over on Saturday and come back the same night, since I have work and rehearsals etc, so there must be someone interested in a fun road trip to the beach!?
I don't mind my own company, but sometimes it's nice not to be a Lucy-No-Mates!

THE FRIDAY FIVE:
1. How are you stereotypically female?
In every possible way! Come on, anyone who knows me, knows the term "girly-girl" was made for me!
2. How are you stereotypically male?
Um....I like to drive is pretty much all I can come up with!
3. What parts of you do you consider unclassifiable as either gender
Weird question! But, I am all woman! lol
4. Do you think you are primarily male, female, or neither in characteristics?
Female. Female. Female.
5. If you could be born as any gender, knowing the gender prejudices as they are now, which would you choose to be?
As my feminist friend Arron found out I could have survived quite well in the oppressive 1950s. In fact, I think he was so disgusted, he's not talking to me anymore! lol
To borrow some lyrics from Bye Bye Birdie - a musical set in the 1950s:
"When you're a skinny child of fourteen,
Wide with braces from ear to ear,
You doubt that you will ever be appealing.
Then Hallelujah! You are fifteen
And the braces disappear
And your skin is smooth and clear
And you have that happy grown-up female feeling.
How lovely to be a woman,
The wait was well worth while;
How lovely to wear mascara
And smile a woman's smile.
How lovely to have a figure,
That's round instead of flat;
Whenever you hear boys whistle,
You're what they're whistling at.
It's wonderful to feel
The way a woman feels;
It gives you such a glow just to know
You're wearing lipstick and heels!
How lovely to be a woman
And have one job to do;
To pick out a boy and train him
And then when you are through,
You've made him the man you want him to be!
Life's lovely when you're a woman like me!
How wonderful to know
The things a woman knows;
How marvelous to wait for a date
In simply beautiful clothes!
How lovely to be a woman
And change from boys to men,
To go to a fancy nightclub
And stay out after ten.
How lovely to be so grown-up and free!
Life's lovely when you're a woman like me."
