I <3 Pink!
Nowhere, but I have been computerless thanks to something small, white and fluffy, who likes eating cords and cables.
Yup. Am not impressed with the rabbit.
However, I'm not completely angry as she has given me the excuse I was after to buy a pretty pink laptop. A Sony Vaio for those to whom that means anything.
It's pink inside AND out! And very, very cool.
It was also a little expensive......
Ah well. It's pretty. And did I mention, pink?

Haven't really been up to too much lately.
I did have a lovely birthday. Quiet, just a few friends over for fish and chips and cake (very classy, I know)!
But...check out my cake:
And yes, I made it (from scratch) all by myself! Am very proud.
There is something I desperately need to rant about on here.....but am not allowed to yet. It's driving me nuts! Although, most of you have probably heard about it already.
Anyway, come October my life is going to be somewhat different and I really don't know if I'm ready for this new path. It's very scary and annoying and I have no control over it whatsoever.
Ok, so I can write about movies.
Saw Indiana Jones and the Search for the Crystal Skull the other day. Anyone who knows me is rather surprised that I'm an Indy fan, but I love history and archaeology, so these sort o treasure hunting films are right up my alley.
And, this one was set in the 1950s.
I knew from the very first that I would love this film.....how could I not?! It opened with an Elvis song!!!
I even loved the car chases! Now, normally I hate them, they're all the same and very cliche, but I enjoyed the two in this film immensely. Very well done, and funny too.
But. Yes, there is a but. What was with the ending (of the quest, I mean, the ending proper was great)?
It did spoil it for me and made the whole thing unbelievable.
Still, I will be seeing it again......three more times at least, as I have three friends to take!
Am very excited about the opening of Sex and The City next Thursday. I'm planning a night out with some friends - dressing up in pretty dresses and cute shoes, watching the film, and then out on the town to find a bar that makes good cosmopolitans!
If any of my readers want to come with, lt me know! The more the merrier.
I managed to score a few vouchers for my birthday, which happened to coincide with the Whitcoulls sale - 25% off dvds, so I have completed my collection of the series and have spent the last week watching the whole series from 1 - 6 to brush up before I see the film. Am very excited!
Actually, sitting here in bed, typing on my lappy, I feel a lot like Carrie! Hehe!
(Another fabulous thing about laptops)!
Did I mention mine's pink?

Happy Mothers' Day!

There is something to be said about men without balls! hehe!
And, it appears wee Miss is using the litter box again! Hoorah!

Continuing with the shocking news theme....
I know!
So far, I'm not sure exactly what......am thinking travel agent. But any ideas / opinions would be most welcome, as I have never actually thought about having a career. The plan was go to uni, find a husband and start popping out babies!
Now, however, it seems I may not have a choice in the matter..........But more on that later.
In other more exciting and less scary news: I may have found a RnR partner!
Tuesday, 6 May 2008
OK, I just received some shocking news.....
Took her to the vet to get speyed this morning, and she came home neutered.
(For the guys out there: she actually had a rather impressive set of balls. That's my baby).
So, I put this question to you, my loyal friends....
Shall I keep pretending she's a little girl named LilyBelle.....
OR
Embrace my transvestite child and rename her......Priscilla?
Oh, and one more thing:
Is it my fault? I mean I am a stage mother.....I sing, dance, act and have been trying to force my baby into show business as well by joining me at my fairy parties. Did I make my bubs a queen?!

Big silly happy grin :D
But, YAY!
Sunday, 4 May 2008
Not even an hour later and I'm back.....
Get Smart, the movie. Wrong, wrong, wrong, wrong, wrong! There is only one Maxwell Smart and only one Agent 99, and I'm sorry but they are not Steve Carrell or Anne Hathaway!
And where did all the gratuitous violence come from?! Get Smart was all light hearted, slapstick comedy! Argh! This is one film I most certainly will NOT be seeing!
Right. A F5 to calm down!
1). Whats harder to live without, chocolate or alcohol?
Chocolate of course! I don't drink, so it's a no brainer, but also, before I started Prozac, chocolate was the only thing that could calm me down, and if I didn't get any, watch out! 0 - bitch in 0.00002 seconds!
2). Does the colour yellow remind you of anything?
Sunflowers.
3). Who most annoyed you last week?
The stupid woman who argued with me over the fact our computers were down and she couldn't swipe her gift card to pay for her ticket. A whole $6 worth of ticket! I didn't have time to deal with her in the end, so I just let her go in for free. Gosh, I hate people sometimes!
4). Do you have a cutesy romantic nickname for your partner (or previous partners)?
I am queen of the cutsey names. But generally, sugar, honey, sweetheart and the like.....although, I tend to call most people these anyway.....
5). What is your favourite Stephen King movie?
Um, hello! Too scary for me! I saw The Tommyknockers when I was about 9 and still have nightmares about it!
Looking good. Feeling fabulous!
I am now back to my normal, happy self after an absence of smiles and joy for about four years.
I am also looking good thanks to the loss of appetite from said drugs and the petty cash I got from work to buy myself some pretty new work clothes! I knew shopping was wonderful, but the whole experience takes on a whole new kind of fabulousness when you get to go shopping with someone else's moolah!
Anyway, it definately helps make up for the last awful week at work where we had NO COMPUTERS. AT ALL!!!! One fibre optic cable (look at me using technical jargon)! crapped out and brought down the whole of Rialto. We had no registers, no signage, no printer, no email and no precious, precious internet to keep Neeny occupied! Of course, while most customers were sympathetic and understanding, there were a few who thought that the whole thing was one big conspiracy just to annoy them. Dumbasses.
Anyway, a WEEK later! (If we were in Auckland, it would have been fixed pronto), we are now up and running again, and I am back to blogging. I know I could easilly blog from home, but I prefer to do it at work, where I need things to do and where we have the pretty, pretty broadband! Very zoom zoom.
So, first topic today: SEX!
On Tuesday, Miss LilyBelle is losing hers. At 5.5 months old, she has reached puberty and the awful teenage stroppiness that goes with it. She is extremely anti-social and is not looking like she will ever be able to join me at parties as a fairy bunny. She just does not like people! Not even her lovely aunties! She loves me, and she loves Mum, but no one else! She is actually quite rude to visitors and I am earning a reputation as a bad Mum who doesn't discipline or control her spoilt brat daughter!
She has also decided that using her litter box is optional and has become very, very close (if you know what I mean)! to the soft bunny toy I bought to keep her company. My darling little girl is a horny trollope :(
I am actually a little worried about the operation...I know there's no need to be, but I have grown very attached to my little ball of white fluff with the long pink, floppy ears!
OK, time for some movie and trailer reviews!
First of all, how excited was I when I saw the Sex and the City trailer?! VERY! I believe I actually squealed. This is the one I have been waiting for. However, is it just me, or did the trailer appear to give an awful lot away? I was kinda annoyed at that, but we'll see.
I'm thinking, Hamilton ladies, that we should all meet up on Thursday 5th May, in gorgeous little dresses, cute shoes, watch the movie and then go for cosmopolitans in town. Who's in?! Let me know, and I will organise. Friends of friends are welcome to join us, the more the merrier!
Did I mention I'm excited?
Second exciting trailer is Indiana Jones and the Search for the Crystal Skull. Now unless you know me really well, you will wonder how a girly girl like me can be so excited about a "boy film". Well, I am just nuts about archaeology. I nearly ended up going to Auckland Uni to do an archaeology degree instead of Theatre at Waikato! So, yes, I am a big fan of the Indy movies. Can't wait! And it's released Mayy 22nd (the day before my birthday, hint, hint, nudge, nudge)!!!
Ok, films.
Definately, Maybe. A little predictable, but a great chick flick. Abigail Breslin, as always, is fabulous. She is going to go a long way, the little talent. The guy....can't remember his name, was nice eye candy, and Rachel Weisz was, as always, also fabulous.
And Jess was right, best opening dialogue ever! I haven't heard the word "penis" used that much apart from a shift with my dear Jessticles!
On an Abigail Breslin theme, Nim's Island. Cute kid, cute animals and a very hunky, wet and shirtless Gerard Butler. Nuff said.
The Spiderwick Chronicles. I had no idea what this movie was about, but the Shambles wanted to see it, so I went along, and WOW! I loved it! It has fairies! Ok, not many fairies compared to the ogres and goblins, but gorgeous wee fairies having tea on the porch with Aunt Lucinda in the crazy house! (All agreed that this was "my" character in the film haha). And the fabulous Dame Joan Plowright was in it too! I loved, loved, loved it, and the next day I went out and bought the first two books of the series. However, even though I count Leo the Lop as one of my favourite ever books, this series is just a little too young for my liking.
Now yesterday, I realised that there are actually films where you will get funny looks if you are not accompanied by a short person! I saw Horton Hears a Who, and boy, the looks I got from adults and kids alike was quite amusing. Yes, I was the only grown up there voluntarilly and alone.
I'm not a Jim Carrey fan at all, but I did enjoy this one. WAY better than The Grinch Who Stole Christmas, that's for sure! Very cute and very funny. Remember, "a person's a person, no matter how small". I like that. I also like Katie, the weird, orange creature of indeterminable species: "On my world, everyone's a pony and they eat rainbows and poop butterflies"! LOVE IT!
Plans are slowly underway for my birthday expedition to Auckland to see Priscilla, Queen of the Desert. I am a bit slack in the organisation, but I will get it sorted, I promise!
I also got a very exciting email from Ticketek or some such, announcing that Phantom of the Opera is coming to NZ in October! Yay! It's one stage show I have always wanted to see but have never got the chance. So I will be there with bells on! Any joiners?
Well, faithfull readers, that's all for this time. But as there are still 5 odd hours left of work, and I have done all my jobs for the day already, I may be back later with a Friday Five or something!
