That would be me.
It was pointed out to me yesterday that of all the Rialto staff effected by the closure, I'm the one it's effecting most.
Our main complex manager and the fill in complex manager are both on salary; one duty manager is really a Chartwell employee who helps us out in times of need, and the other is off on maternity leave at just the right time. The projies and CAs will have no trouble moving over to SkyCity and getting shifts, but what about me?
I know there are a couple of SC duty managers already struggling to get the shifts they need, and at best I would get one, maybe two DM shifts and the rest supervisor or CA shifts.
I just can't live on that.
I'm not even being offered a decent redundancy package - 4 weeks pay.
So, I am currently updating my CV and will be applying for a position at Flight Centre later on today.
No point sticking around.
I am loyal to the people I work with, and am confident my leaving won't leave them short staffed (or I wouldn't go).
But I no longer feel any sense of loyalty to the company.
Screw them.
